QT25 uses a unique method to detect the exact
PCB short circuit locations, pinpoint the
shorted components/tracks.
Ideally, PCB tracks have zero resistance, but small resistance exist. The exact short location
is where the instrument reads the lowest value of resistance. Such resistance
can be
detected with a sensitive instrument like QT25, even in power planes.
QT25 was designed to apply a drive voltage
of less than 200 mV, while detecting
shorts in the populated PCBs, to avoid turning on the semiconductor
devices
inside the circuit that may led to misleading results
Include two sharp probes, to poke
through insulation or solder mask for contact
Four-wire measurement technique for
accuracy, emimiate concern for residual probe resistance
Measure contact
resistance of switches and relays in
its milli-ohm mode
16 character composite alpha-numeric backlit LCD display, indicate resistance range selected, offset indication, resistance value, and unit
Resistance-dependent, modulated
frequency audio tone output (whose pitch
increases with decreasing resistance value) provided
